Léonce Houngbadji is a committed journalist, author, and civil society leader, dedicated to solutions-driven journalism and civic engagement in Africa.
Born in Benin in 1985, he founded the media outlet Notre Voix in 2002, a pioneer of solutions journalism on the continent.
From 2010 to 2021, he advised West African leaders on political and institutional communication and served in public roles, including within the Ministry of the Interior and Prefecture of Cotonou.
In exile in Paris since 2018, he continued his work through press, literature, civic activism, and entrepreneurship, founding La Semaine l’Afrique des Solutions (SAS) and leading Notre Voix association, Action Humanitaire Pour Tous, and Dynamic Partners.
An accomplished author, he advocates for a new narrative on Africa—highlighting creativity, resilience, and concrete solutions—and received the Gold Medal of Philanthropic Merit in 2024.
On the Foundation’s Executive Committee, Houngbadji brings expertise in media strategy, civic mobilization, and impactful storytelling, amplifying the visibility and social impact of the Foundation’s initiatives across Africa and internationally.
