Professor Emmanuel R. Goffi is a leading intellectual in applied ethics for AI, autonomous systems, and emerging technologies, combining military service, academic research, and philosophical reflection.
A senior officer in the French Air Force for 27 years, he held key roles in strategic communication, international cooperation, and military education, and taught ethics, international humanitarian law, and relations at the École de l’air.
Holding a PhD in Political Science from Sciences Po, he now serves as professor and associate researcher at ISEP, where he contributes to advancing the ethical understanding of artificial intelligence and digital technologies.
His work addresses AI ethics, autonomous weapons, disruptive technologies, and the societal impact of digitalization, and he leads the Ethics & AI Observatory at the Centre Sapiens, guiding public and private institutions in ethical frameworks.
On the Foundation’s Executive Committee, Professor Goffi brings expertise in technology ethics, strategic governance, and responsible innovation, supporting the digital transformation of education and sustainable AI development across Europe and beyond.
